Little Grebe, 3/28/2012

This was also not in my plan. I was intended to photograph a Chinese Pond Heron because one of my birdwatching friends said it was there, which turned out to be a wrong information. But to my surprise, Tufted Duck and Purple Heron were there, and the Little Grebe, which I had photographed before, has changed its feathers into a colorful ones because it's now in its breeding season. The Little Grebe was shy and always kept distant. If the photograph hurt your eye, I appologize. Thanks!

The Little Grebe belongs to Taiwan local bird. It's good at diving long time into water searching for fishes. In the breeding season, its front neck and side neck are reddish brown, and its face has a tilted white stripe, very colorful as a whole, not like the boring light brown color during non-breeding season.
