Black-faced Bunting, 3/16/2012

This time we headed for Jinshan again to photograph the Goosander. When we arrived, there was only one birdwatching fan there. Immdediately we knew that the Goosander was gone. After searching and taking some pictures of other birds, we went back to the Youth Center and found a Eurasian Blackbird. The Blackbird was so elusive that I only took a back view of it before it ran out of sight. When we were searching for the Blackbird, a group of Black-faced Buntings suddenly came into view. Immdediately our focus shifted to this group of Black-faced Buntings. All afternoon this group appeared many times, every one took some good shots of them.

There are two subspecies of Black-faced Buntings in Taiwan. One is E. s. personata, and the other one is E. s. spodocephala. This group of Black-faced Buntings is belong to E. s. spodocephala.
