Scaly-breasted Munia, 10/1/2012

This is fairly common in Taiwan. They can be spotted in farm fields and brushwood eating the seeds. Their color is mainly brown, and can easily be mistaken as a sparrow.

Characteristics:General Characteristics: About 12 cm long. The whole body is mainly brown. Bill is black. The adult has white belly with scale-like plumage which the youth doesn't have. The brown hue on the face and throat for the adult is darker.
